Subject: Licensing for Use of Copyrighted DVDs and Videos for ICOC Churches
Dear All,
Good news! We would like to offer you an opportunity to obtain a license from Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) for the use of copyrighted movies and video images for your church. This will enable you to be legal in much the same way that you have secured a license for the use of copyrighted songs for your church services. A license like this is required in order to legally show video and movie clips to your congregation during church services or at any other time.
This solution has come about as a result of negotiations that began when I tried to get licensing through Motion Picture Licensing Corporation (MPLC) for the Singapore church. Since CVLI and its parent organization, MPLC, are in Los Angeles, I have asked and the Alliance of Christian Organizations (ACO) administration has kindly agreed to facilitate the transactions.
With this CVLI annual license, your church will be able to use movies from any of MPLC/CVLI’s approved studios for an unlimited number of times for that year. For a list of movie studios (over 400) and other details, please visit the CVLI website (www.CVLI.com) and select the United States in the country pick list.
For most churches, depending on the size of the congregation, the license fee could be as high as US $650 per year.
But for your church, because it is in a developing country, I have negotiated a special ICOC rate – a flat fee of only US $75 per year! And as an additional benefit to the ICOC, CVLI has also agreed to donate 10% of your license fee to HOPE worldwide.
To obtain your CVLI license, please follow these steps:
- Pay for your license via PayPal:
- Then, follow the directions for your credit card payment of US $75.
On receipt, ACO will process your registration and forward your license directly to your church.
If you have any problems completing this process, please email Keith Rose at Keith@acoonline.org for assistance.
Thank you for joining us in this effort to be above reproach in the area of copyright observance, in accordance with the scriptures in 2 Corinthians 8: 21: For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.
Love,
John Louis
